My Licence has been revoked due to 6 points in just under 2 years how do i get it back......?

My Licence has been revoked due to 6 points in just under 2 years for no insurance, my insurance was cancelled back in October by my insurance company for non-payment of which I was not aware as I do not check my account (i did not recieve no correspondence from them regarding this). I was pulled over in January and told I have no insurance by Traffic Police (of which I stated I did only to speak to Admiral and find out I didn’t) I was very fortunate to not have a crash or hit anyone in them months. My 2 years is this month April 2011 but have received a letter saying my licence is being revoked due to receiving 6 points. Is there anything I can do – if not what do I do next to get my licence back?
